The skies were blue as we prepared for this lovely, fun outdoor Philadelphia wedding on the pier. However, there were dark clouds on the horizon.
A powerful thunderstorm was making it’s way towards Philly. I checked my handy collection of weather apps that give me up to date weather reports for the next 15 minutes and told the couple’s friend who was performing the ceremony not to dawdle. We needed to get the show on the road!

By the time the ceremony ended, the dark clouds were overhead. As I usually do, I swift, painless work of the family and group photos so they could all seek shelter from the storm. Then it was just the bride and groom and myself against the elements!

The rain let up as we walked around Philadelphia taking wedding photos. We even found our way over to Elfreth’s Alley, the country’s oldest continuously residential street. The residents were welcoming, but how could they not be. We were a lot of fun to be around.

By the end of it, the rain had started to come down pretty hard again. Luckily, the rest of the festivities were being held indoors.
