As a wedding photographer, I am always look for new ways to see things whenever I am photographing a wedding. Going in with a preconceived notion as to what the photos will be can stifle your creativity. At a recent wedding, I shut off my lights so I could capture these wedding reception silhouettes of the couple dancing in front of a video screen. This photo just won an award for wedding photojournalism from the WPJA!
I’m very happy with how this photo turned out, and so are my clients! Even though they are silhouettes, you can still make out their expressions and the dancing energy.
