So you had plans for your life in 2020? Well, the pandemic thought otherwise. So many plans have changed, but you can also make new plans. And that’s what happened in this Maplewood, New Jersey ‘minimony’ wedding.
Maggie and David decided to get re-married during the pandemic. The only folks present for their ‘minimony’ were their daughters, the mayor of the town, and me!
I was a little concerned at first, since Maggie is a director of film and television, that she might try to tell me where to set up for my shots. No worries, though, as she appreciates a good Director of Photography.
All kidding aside, it was a sweet and lovely ceremony that made me a little misty, both for the emotions expressed and because I just miss weddings!
Masks were worn, distance was maintained, vows and rings were exchanged, and love won the day!
Maggie even wore the same shoes she wore to their first wedding…
What do you think of this Maplewood, New Jersey town hall ‘minimony’? Are we calling them minimonies?
What’s the terminology we’re going with? I just want to know what to call them. It’s hard to stay on top of what to call these types of ceremonies because it feels like everyone is jockeying to get the right hashtag.
Micro weddings or minimonies, I am happy to photograph them! I’ve also put together some resources to help you plan. Click here for those.
If you’re in New York or New Jersey and you’re planning one, whatever you want to label it, feel free to see my other wedding work on my website. Or, reach out and contact me so we can discuss having me photograph your minimony in a safe, socially distanced fashion!
