I love photographing in the DUMBO or “Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass” area of Brooklyn. It is one of my favorite spots in the borough for engagement and wedding photos.
Why? Because in a few blocks you can get great industrial settings, cobblestone streets, river views, the Manhattan skyline, and the Brooklyn Bridge…
Plus, you get the actual Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It is a gorgeous huge arched space that is great for photos pretty much any time of day because there are all sorts of natural reflectors to create beautiful lighting.
And the architectural elements make it an absolutely lovely backdrop.
The photo above, titled “Down Under”, recently won a Diamond Award from the Wedding Photojournalist Association for excellence in engagement photography.
