20 Years of Wedding Photos

It is crazy to think that I’ve been a wedding photographer for 20 years! When I look back at all of the wedding photos…and there are a lot…I marvel at how far I have come.

When I started out, I had no idea what I was doing when it came to wedding photos.

I had been photographing actors, musicians, and some fashion work. I thought, “How much different can weddings be?”

Well, weddings are a little bit of everything – fashion, events, still life, portraiture, live performances – plus throw in the added pressure of it being a one time only event, absolutely no do-overs.

I’m kind of amazed at how casually I strolled into this industry…and how quickly I fell in love with it.

The joy and love that is present at a wedding just makes me happy.

My wife says that I have ‘the most romantic job in the world’ and I agree with her. I, myself, am a romantic, and I am super sentimental.

And as I look back through all of these wedding photos, I start to get a little misty. Maybe it’s just the dust from brushing off some of these old pictures…

To me, emotions have always been the biggest part of what makes great wedding photos.

I always search out those unfiltered, natural moments between people. There is something about them that resonates with me.

People sometimes ask me what my favorite wedding was or my favorite wedding photo…how could I possibly choose?

There are just so many amazing people and moments that have been a part of my life. They mean a lot to me.

I put together featuring wedding photos from throughout my career and I still couldn’t fit in all of my favorites. Take a look:

I was looking through some of my old reviews on The Knot and WeddingWire too. I just feel so incredibly privileged to have been a part of so many important days in the lives of my clients.

To capture these moments so that they can continue to enjoy them for decades to come.

Here’s to 20 more years!
