Casey Clicks: Victoria + Matt

“…my pictures mean more to me than ever…”

I absolutely loved working with Victoria and Matt on their wedding at Liberty Warehouse. They’re just super nice and lovely people.

This photo from the end of that night has always stuck with me because it’s just such a beautiful moment. The look in their eyes…

It makes me, as my wife likes to say, feel ‘all schmooey’.

So, I wanted to find out what Victoria’s feelings were about this moment, now that it has been a few years since the wedding…

What do you think of when you see this picture?

“So when I look at this picture I instantly remember how happy I felt during my entire wedding day.

I ¬†remember it being the end of the night, being sweaty and hot, but having the best time as we danced to the last song of the night, Tom Petty’s American Girl.

The people in the background are some of Matthew’s oldest and closest friends and I always smile seeing them there in the shot as well.

I don’t know how to say this eloquently but the picture also makes me feel like a princess being scooped up and feeling safe in my prince’s arms (cue the mushy-ness and eye rolls!!!).”

What do your wedding photos mean to you now that it has been a few years since the wedding?

“Now that four years have passed, my pictures mean more to me than ever.

When I was in wedding planning mode, I thought about it every day. But now that some time has gone by and life continues to progress with home ownership, babies, etc, the wedding isn’t always in the forefront of my mind…

But when I look back at the pictures, I am instantly taken back to that day and all of the emotions and happiness I felt.

I still remember you looking at me outside the church as the rain was passing through and I had tears in my eyes and you said, “if you want to still go take pictures at Brooklyn Bridge Park, I’m all for it.”

And we did, and the photos are gorgeous.

I tell everyone that story and am so grateful you weren’t phased (as I was) by a little rain.

The pictures allow me to relive one of the happiest days of my life, and you as our photographer captured every detail I had hoped you would and more.”

I’ve said it before, and I will repeat it for the one millionth time. I’m a very emotional person, and it makes me very, very proud to be able to capture pictures like this and to know how much they mean to the couples I work with.

If that’s what you want in a wedding photographer, you should contact me now – or tell your friends and family members who are getting married to get in touch with me.

I’m also happy to say that Victoria and Matt just welcomed their second child a few days ago…his name is also Matthew…

Sorry, I need to wipe my eyes…it’s a little dusty in here.
