“What time should we start the getting ready photos?”
Nearly every wedding I photograph, couples want pictures of the ‘getting ready’ part of the day. I love shooting these photos. They help round out the story of your wedding day.
You get to see all of the details, all of the emotions, and the anticipation.
But how do you make sure you get great getting ready photos?
Well, I put together this video with a few secrets to help ensure your prep pictures look awesome!
Here’s another helpful hint – you don’t want three hours of getting ready photos. Even though you and your bridesmaids might be having your makeup and hair done for that long, what you really want to get pictures of are the ‘finishing touches’. I find that what you really need is an hour to an hour and a half (depending on how long it takes your photographer to do all of your detail shots) before you are ‘getting in the dress’ to get the best getting ready photos.
