Liberty Warehouse Wedding: Kevin + Beatrice

“Would you look at that!”

It was really an amazing sight to see. Really incredible.

You might remember Beatrice and Kevin from their very fun Upper West Side engagement session, or their love of The Smiths and New Wave music (I smiled broadly when a Smiths song came on at the reception). When the wedding at Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn rolled around, they’d been going through some difficult times and stress levels had been kind of high.

Nonetheless, they went forward with smiles on their faces. During the ceremony (which was luckily indoors), it started raining and a steamy fog started to envelop the Statue of Liberty just across the harbor. We thought that our hopes for some outdoor portraits had been dashed when, just at the end of the ceremony, the sun burst through the clouds, filling Brooklyn with gorgeous, golden light.

As we were just about to finish the portraits, I saw it. A double rainbow over Brooklyn.

“We have to get a shot of this!”

“It’s not that important to us,” they responded.

“Trust me, you’re going to want this photo.”

And when they saw it, they agreed.

You see, as the saying goes, into every life a little rain must fall. There are going to be hard times and there will be good times. But after the rain, you need to look for the rainbow. Sometimes it’s a double!
