The universe has a way of bringing things full circle. I have known Susanna for 19 years! When I moved to New York City, I started taking fencing classes with her dad, Joe. I took classes with him for 13 years, nearly every Friday morning, and I was his assistant for seven. The last time I’d seen her was at her father’s memorial service a year and a half ago. I don’t really want to delve into that since it gets me pretty emotional. Fast forward a little over a year and I get a call from her mom. It seems they were looking at wedding venues and noticed my name on some photos from the venue they’d chosen. They didn’t know me as a wedding photographer. They knew me as the fencer…needless to say, I was honored when Susanna and Jacob decided to hire me to photograph their wedding.
And we had a lot of fun at their engagement session…
Singing in the Rain, anyone?
We referred to this as the Twilight pose…
I am always a little nervous wondering whether a couple will like their photos. When Susanna started sharing literally all of their engagement photos the day after I delivered them, I knew there wasn’t going to be a problem. Thanks, Susanna and Jacob. I am really looking forward to the wedding!
