This was my first time photographing a wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau in New Jersey. I must say, I was impressed. The grounds and the building are stunning! So if you like weddings filled with fun, emotion, and lots of details, this is one for you!
Erica taking a few moments during the ‘getting ready’ portion of the day to copy down her vows…
While the gentlemen tried to figure out how to tie a bow tie. Seriously, guys?!? I wrote a whole blog post with a video about that. To be fair, I think they were actually watching my video.
I love ‘first looks’. For one, they allow for a more relaxed pacing to the day of the wedding. We can take care of portraits before the ceremony and you get to enjoy your cocktail hour and reception without worrying about jamming in all the photos. This is the first time the couple stood back to back and walked five paces before turning around. It was like a Wild West duel…without the guns…and a lot more love!
A pool! This place has a pool. Not that I would recommend taking a dip in your wedding duds. But the still blue water does make for some gorgeous reflections.
And here we have the “Game of Thrones” portrait…
We started off referring to this shot as the “Kardashians Christmas Card” photo but it became the “CLUE Wedding Party Photo”…the bride…in the library…with the poker!
But we are not complete without an old school boy band style shot.
Someone is excited for the ceremony!
“Hey, we’re married!!!”
Guests were seated by how they knew the couple.
And how about this amazingly beautiful cake by Sylvia Weinstock? More on that later…
This, my friends, is how you enter your wedding reception – with conviction!
Do you think people were having fun?
I am pretty sure Erica was!
Oh, did I mention there was an actual dance off? Yes, two groups of friends lined up across from each other and danced off as ‘crews’. It was one of the most awesome things I have seen at a wedding reception.
Now, back to that cake. Stunning, right?
It was so beautiful, Erica started crying cutting into it!
Thank you, Erica and Bryan, for allowing me to be a part of your incredible day!
