Mary + DeAndre: Brooklyn Bridge Park Engagement Session

Since my style of wedding photography is very candid and natural, I attract a lot of couples who are not keen on posing for pictures. I love working with these couples. Why? Because I get to show them that having their photos taken does not have to be a painful process. It can be relaxed and natural. To that end, I find working with each couple on an engagement photo session before the wedding is extremely important. We get to build a connection between the three of us which leads to a relaxed atmosphere and builds the couple’s confidence for the photos on their wedding day.

Mary and DeAndre kept asking me if they ‘looked awkward’ in their photos. My response? “No, you both have amazing smiles and laughs.” That’s what I want. Genuine feelings.
