You may or may not have heard that a mysterious piano came ashore on the Manhattan side of the East River, just under the Brooklyn Bridge. Where it came from is still a puzzle. Tourists and New Yorkers flocked to the location to take pictures. I saw the piano and a light bulb went off in my head. “I want to do a bridal fashion shoot on THAT!”
Of course, such an endeavor had its challenges – getting dresses (which would definitely get ruined in the shooting process), avoiding crowds and tides, getting the light just right. So that meant shooting at sunrise – which this time of year means around 5:30 AM. As one wedding vendor told me, “You’re f***ing crazy…but I love the idea!” And sometimes you have to do something crazy to make magical photographs.
A huge thanks to everyone who was involved in this shoot! It took a lot of effort just to get up at 2:30 AM to pull this off. What do you think of this shoot? Please let me know your thoughts in the comment section below – and if you really like the photos, share them with your friends.
