I am sure it is common for wedding photographers to return to the venue where they themselves got married. However, when you return to the same location one year after your own wedding (one day before your anniversary), you cannot avoid a certain sense of ‘deja vu’. Annie and Alex’s wedding kicked off the season of seven ‘friend weddings’, or as it is known in my circle of friends – Wedding-ocalypse! More on that at a later date.
When Annie and Alex approached me about shooting their wedding, I jumped at the opportunity. I love working at F.E.A.S.T.!! The location is gorgeous, the food is outstanding, and staff is extraordinarily attentive. Perhaps that is why my wife and I chose to get married there? Did I mention that Annie and Alex are ‘foodies’? Because the food at F.E.A.S.T. is awe-some! Yes, I hyphenated ‘awesome’ to give it just a little more weight. Now, on to the pictures.
One of the reasons that Annie, Alex, and I get along so well is that they are professional ‘photo bombers’. We compete in the same league. It is such a part of who they are that their bridal party and family around insisted that several portraits be taken with the ‘photo bomb face’. Don’t believe me?
All joking aside, it was a beautiful day!
Adding to the deja vu factor was the fact that Annie and Alex hired the same DJ that worked my wedding, DJ Khan from 74 Events. When we saw each other before the ceremony, he jokingly turned and said, “Didn’t I see you here last year?”
Seriously, the venue is gorgeous. Annie and Alex also really like wine, so to personalize their table numbers they chose wines from different regions and named the tables accordingly. Champagne, of course, was saved for the head table!
The ‘photo bombing’ also crept into the reception…my response was, “It is your wedding so I will let it slide!”
Thank you, Annie and Alex. It was a pleasure and an honor!
