I love shooting weddings for people who are coming to New York City from other countries. I am always more than happy to work with them, especially because they are usually on a weekday and I have a lot more availability and flexibility during the week!
I photographed a couple of these types of wedding recently. The first is Jane and David. They are from Edinburgh, Scotland – when they heard my wife and I were going there for our honeymoon they sent us a list of bars and restaurants, sorted by type of food, how expensive, etc. It was extremely nice of them! We started out the day of their wedding at the Waldorf Astoria…
Then it was off to the Central Park Conservatory Garden (on 105th and 5th Avenue) – I like to call this the “Secret Garden” because a lot of people who live in New York City do not even know it is there! It is fenced off from the rest of the park and you do need a permit even to take pictures there. They are VERY serious about that.
Jane and David’s wedding also had me working again with the always wonderful, Rev. Annie Lawrence. If you need a wedding officiant, I highly recommend her!
The second wedding was Siobhain and John, who came over from Ireland. For those of you unfamiliar with Gaelic, that is pronounced “Sha-von”.
Have questions? I can answer them for you.
