Art Basel Diary – Oceanfront Nights – Detroit

Once again I am in Miami Beach covering Art Basel for The Art Newspaper. I will be posting more photos soon but I don’t want to publish anything prior to their appearance in print.

Art Basel Miami Beach is always great about having interesting installations on the beach. This year featured an amazing pavilion made of reflective and phosphorescent rope designed by Phu Hoang Office and Rachely Rotem Studio. When asked what it looked like I found myself calling it “imagine a glow in the dark pirate ship meets a giant jellyfish”.

This year the Oceanfront Nights program focused on four cities “at the forefront of today
