I am a New York City wedding photographer. My style? Photojournalistic, candid, organic – the term I like most is ‘documentary’. For me, photography is not just about taking pictures – it is capturing relationships, emotions, unseen moments, the details. Photography tells a story. My goal is to tell your story so that looking at the photos, you feel you are transported to that moment in time.

I take my job very seriously, but I am not a serious person. In fact, you could say I am kind of jolly! I am a nerd, a geek, a lover of music and movies. I frequently dance poorly but with great enthusiasm. I am also unapologetically sentimental. And I thoroughly believe in the power of being awesome!
Growing up in the Midwest, I wanted to replace Johnny Carson as the host of The Tonight Show. I wrote my own material and performed regularly for my siblings and their friends. I went to college to study physics, but left with degrees in acting and journalism. I moved to New York City to pursue my acting career, along the way continuing a life long passion for photography in my spare time. Then my friends started getting married. I took my camera along and shot a roll of film (yes, I am that old), and sent them prints of my favorite shots as an additional wedding gift. When the responses came back, “These are better than the person we paid.” I decided to look into wedding photography. I shot my first wedding, and I fell in love with it. Over a decade later and I still love what I do!
My wife is my rock, my muse, my sounding board, the shoulder I cry on (like I said, I am sentimental – not cool, Sarah McLachlan ASPCA commericals!), and the ear I constantly bend with my crazy ideas. I would not be where I am without her constant love and support. She actually encourages the bad dancing!
We live in New York City with our crazy dog (who also thinks he is a parrot) and our even crazier cat, who has a leather fetish and a serious catnip addiction (we have tried to have an intervention, but he does not pay attention).
I was recently named on of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the United States and Best Wedding Photographer in New York City in the 2013 Wedding Industry Experts Awards. I have won some other awards…
