I have been photographing art fairs for The Art Newspaper for several years now in New York and Miami, and people always say to me, “Oh, I bet you get to look at a lot of art!” Well, not as much as you might think. It would be more accurate to say I walk by a lot of art. My days covering the art fairs are usually full of hunting down specific pieces and people to photograph, as well as keeping my head on a swivel to photograph any celebrities who may be wandering about. And lots of cab rides. Lots and lots of cab rides. So, I decided to compress four days of shooting last week into a stop-motion video using Hipstamatic on my iPhone. This will give you a feel for what is is like.
What do you think? Relaxing, right?
